Wonderful choice of online videos! The first time I saw that Ethan Winer video was in a professor's office about two and a half years ago. When I saw it, I thought to myself, "This man truly possesses talent." I look around at the music world today, and I see very little talent that is recognized. Outside of the world of "high art" music, people seem to value image more than talent. I'm straying from the topic at hand, though.
The first video we watched was very interesting. I like seeing new things, or at least ideas that people have. I think the technical world just keeps getting better and better. When I think of my two Grandmothers, I know they must be shocked with all the technology that is possible. Will we ever be shocked? Growing up in such an advanced place technologically, is there anything that will come as a shock to us in the future? I almost feel that I have movies to thank for introducing new technological concepts. Two that come to mind right away are "Minority Report" and "The Final Cut." Again, I stray from the topic at hand. I guess I'm just trying to say that everything we do or see has an effect on our ideas and creativity.

Browsers
In the past, I have familiarized myself with a number of browsers. I've used the standard Internet Explorer, the Mac-friendly Safari, my personal favorite (for now) Firefox, and the God-awful Netscape. Netscape is by far the worst. In my experience, Netscape has gotten corrupted so many times, I've wanted to smash the machine with a sledge-hammer on more than one occasion. At this current moment, I am using Firefox. I just tried to download 3b, the 3d browser, but my computer here at work does not have enough RAM! Frustration ensues! Apparently, the people who brought this computer in upgraded to Windows XP but neglected to upgrade the RAM. I'll have to try 3b at home later on. I also just downloaded Opera. The first thing I notice about the Opera browser is that in addition to the usual File, Edit, View, Bookmarks, and Tools drop-down menus on top, Opera has one for Widgets...very interesting. Another fascinating feature about Opera is as a page is loading, the browser shows how many images are on the page and how many are loaded right next to the web address. I will have to do some more searching around and report back later...
W-W-Welcome!
I'm still new at this blogging thing, so, please bear with me. As I am typing, I see a pop-up at the bottom of my screen that reads: "Now Blogger saves your drafts automatically!" That is incredibly interesting! I wonder if that should be a permanent feature in every program. There are pros and cons to that idea, I think. Pro: one forgets to save his or her work after a long time of editing...computer crashes...everything lost...no, wait, it automatically saves every minute, so the day is saved (no pun intended)! Con: one opens a document to use as a template...instead of doing a regular save, the person wants to "save as" so the original template is still intact...oops, auto-save erased all old data...day is ruined! We shall see what place auto-save has in the future of programs.
